You can’t make it up: Guy who plays Pat Patriot arrested in prostitution sting
If we were to make up a news story… it’d be tough to come up with an odder one than this. But hey, during a bizarre week that’s included one nice off-the-field story and one not-so-nice one, this one only makes sense.
According to the Associated Press, one of the dudes who plays the mascot Pat Patriot (right) has been arrested for … wait for it… his role in a prostitution ring. Yikes.
This is from the report: Law enforcement sources told NBC 10 one of the johns who tried to pay for sex with a prostitute was 47-year-old Robert Sormanti of Warwick. He is one of several people who plays the Pat the Patriot mascot.
The team released a statement, essentially, washing its hands of this guy.
“The Pat Patriot mascot costume is worn by multiple people, each of whom are held responsible and accountable for their actions,” the team said. “The individual in question has been suspended. The mascot responsibilities will continue to be fulfilled by others.”
So, yeah. Not really sure what to add except… Yikes again.
